CO-DIRECTOR
About Anti-Racism Movement
Anti-Racism Movement (ARM) was launched in 2010 as a grassroots collective by young Lebanese feminist activists in collaboration with migrant workers and domestic workers. ARM’s mission is to achieve social, economic and gender justice for migrant workers and racialized groups in Lebanon - with a specific focus on migrant domestic worker women living under the oppressive Kafala system. Our theory of change positions migrant workers as leaders and agents of social change, which happens through our migrant-led or migrant-centered work in advocacy, community-building and organizing and legal casework.
ARM has grown in the last few years of constant crisis in Lebanon and we recently moved into a new community center space in Beirut, which has left us imagining many exciting possibilities for our future. We’re a team of 35 people with big ideas and a strong belief in a feminist ethics of care. This not only extends to our work, but to our working environment too.
Job Purpose
ARM has opted for a co-directorship model, embracing the concept of power-sharing to better align with the values of the organization. We are open to and curious about what comes from exploring new management structures while trusting that our collective creativity and collaborative efforts will continue to pave the way as we build movements we call home.
The two co-directors are together responsible for the overall leadership and management of the organization, ensuring alignment to ARM's mission and vision, code of conduct as well as financial and administrative guidelines to maintain a strong commitment to inclusive and intersectional feminist values. This includes oversight of all operational functions within ARM, including advocacy, the migrant community center (MCC), legal casework, finance, human resources, fundraising, communications, and other administrative functions.
